Celebrating vintage gardening

Retro Grow Festival is a celebration of vintage gardening. It embraces the timeless charm of garden culture. This purely conceptual event is a harmonious blend of nostalgia and nature, where attendees are transported into a world of garden-inspired magic. It’s a place where garden history comes alive.

As the designer behind Retro Grow, I developed this imaginative concept from the ground up, shaping the entire visual identity, from logos to social media templates and website layouts. My aim was to create a visual narrative that would not only inform but also invite and engage, providing a taste of what a real-world event like this could offer.

VISUAL IDENTITY

Designing the brand with a touch of nostalgia

The main objective for this visual identity was to evoke a sense of groovy nostalgia while resonating with nature enthusiasts. From the retro groovy typography to the 70’s inspired colour palette (vibrant pinks and yellows set against earthy greens), this aesthetic encapsulates the lively spirit of the festival.

Additionally, plant illustrations and patterns were integrated into the visual identity, further reinforcing the festival’s connection with the natural world.

PRINT DESIGN

Crafting festival printed magic

The essence of Retro Grow Festival was brought to life through carefully crafted print designs, including captivating posters and banners designed to promote the event on-site. These designs seamlessly integrate the festival’s vintage gardening theme and its vibrant, nature-inspired color palette to create a visually enticing experience.

DIGITAL DESIGN

Nurturing the digital garden

I wanted to make sure that RETRO GROW also blossomed in the digital realm, so I crafted a series of social media posts and website layouts. Retro Grow’s website served as the digital heart of the event. Two essential layouts were created – one for the inviting and informative homepage, and another for the workshops page.
