THE FACE BEHIND THE PROJECT

Designer & Illustrator

The name on my citizen card is Ana Beatriz Casimiro, born on a Wednesday (2/9/98). I’m a queer designer and illustrator from Porto, Portugal, working from a corner in the attic filled with plants I try (and sometimes fail) to keep alive.

When I’m not working, I’m either on the sofa binging shows I can crochet while watching, breaking my back on the sewing machine, trying out a new creative hobby (like I don’t have too many already), obsessing over plants, or losing patience with my chaotic cat.

Calada Era Poeta

Calada Era Poeta might be an alter ego, but it reflects perfectly the essence of the person behind it.  The name comes from a Portuguese saying that translates to “If I kept quiet, I would be a poet.” Some say it reflects my rebellious spirit, I say it reflects the inability to keep my mouth shut.

While art prints are currently main main focus, my goal is to keep expanding into wearable and funcional art, making creativity a part of everyday life.
